It's the First Week of Advent!

 Good Afternoon Students,

I hope that you enjoyed the mild weather this weekend. Mr. D was working very hard on getting his Christmas Lights up and his house decorated! As we discussed today, it is the first week of Advent as we prepare for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. Today you worked on coming up with an Advent Promise to bring Hope, Love, Joy and Peace to the world. Try to start working on your promises right away!

We have been talking about Symmetry in shapes. I found an extra cool interactive game to try which will help you to understand symmetry. Give it a try!

Happy Monday Class!

 Dear Students,

I hope that you enjoyed playing in the snow today! It seemed like you were having a really good time building forts, snowmen snow, snow angels and many other things made of snow.

As you know, we continued to explore polygons in class during another "hands-on" activity. Here is a study sheet on our different shapes I like to call the "Everything You EVER wanted to Know About 2D Shapes but Were Afraid to Ask" sheet! Take a look at it; you will see the names of the shapes and an outline of their geometric properties.

Well Done, Grade 2s and 3s

 Dear Grade 2s and 3s,

Congratulations on your wonderful performance of the beautiful song, "Peace is Flowing like a River." during our Remembrance Day liturgy.  Mr. D received many compliments about your song throughout the day, and he is very proud of you! It was a great way to help commemorate and honour Canada's war and military heroes.

Thank you to those parents who joined us. For those unable to join us or who had technical difficulties, we have a surprise: we sang the song again and recorded the sound; you will be able to hear our song! Mr. D will post our song here on our blog as soon as he has downloaded the file.

Well done!

Regards,

Mr. D
